Blind Spot Monitor at Your St. Johns County Dealership
In addition to Toyota Safety Sense and the Star Safety System, Toyota has many other safety technologies. Toyota’s Blind Spot Monitoring feature includes a Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert to help detect and alert you to vehicles in your blind spot. Let’s take a closer look at a demonstration from Rodney Gonzales how these features work and how you can use them to improve safety on the road.
What is a Blind Spot Monitor?
The Blind Spot Monitor alerts the driver if someone is in their blind spot or if someone is coming up behind your vehicle when you start to reverse, a warning light will flash in your mirror and it will also make a beeping sound.
When would I need a Blind Spot Monitor?
Any time you reverse out any parking spot, for example, while at a grocery store, your doctors office, or a residential neighborhood.
Does my Blind Spot Monitor only detect vehicles?
No, your Blind Spot Monitor will also detect pedestrians, including someone pushing a stroller or riding a bike.
Remember to always look over your shoulder and use your mirrors and do not rely exclusively on the Blind Spot Monitor Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system. Contact Rodney Gonzales at (904) 797-8800 or rgonzales@beavertoyota.com if you would like to see a demonstration of how the Blind Spot Mirrors work.

I’m just saying, Some people may believe because of the description that this only works while reversing… Just my opinion, some may Not understand it is always working~
On my 2020 Highlander limited does the Blind Side Monitor “Beep”?
If yes, how or where do you go to accomplish this task?
Thanks
yes it does beep only in reverse for detection of rear cross traffic. When driving forward it only lights up and does not beep. If someone is in your Blind Spot.
Is the blind spot feature available in RAV4 LE?
Yes but not on all of them, it has to have a certain package. Please contact Rodney Gonzales at (904) 797-8800 or rgonzales@beavertoyota.com for details
How far back should the blind side system pick up vehicles coming up from behind approaching you on the driver or passenger side mirrors. Is there a standard distance. Like maybe how many car lengths from the back of your vehicle or feet.
the range is from 9.8ft to 197ft on a RAV4 2020 but may vary from vehicle to Vehicle. I can show you in the manual a diagram just let me know.
