4,597 lbs of Food +$1600 Collected for St. Johns Families

This holiday season Beaver Toyota in St. Augustine wanted to step up our commitment to giving back to the local residents of St. John’s County. General Manager, Nick Reuther, created a team-building challenge among the Beaver employees to collect as much non-perishable food and monetary donations as possible during the month of November. Mr. Reuther explained, “I created the “WOW” teams to encourage my employees to work cohesively toward a non-work related goal; we all realized how blessed we are to have something as simple as a nutritious meal to fill our bodies. It’s important to know and act upon the knowledge that not all our neighbors are so fortunate.” In all, the Beaver “WOW” teams collected 4,597 pounds of food, enough to fill the beds of two Toyota Tundras. We also collected $1600, including a generous $1000 contribution from Flagler Hospital. Enough food was collected to provide meals for 350 families this holiday season Beaver Toyota partnered with Investing in Kids (INK!), the direct support organization for St. John’s County schools, and the Rotary club for the distribution of the food. The food was distributed to Betty Griffin house, Home Again St Johns, Woodlawn Terrace Family Association, Sebastian Middle School, Osceola Elementary and Hartley Elementary and a few churches.
